Learning Scenario
This scenario is the corporate headquarters of the franchise communication office of a large iconic coffee shop located in the Southwest. There are five to six employees on the communication team that provide information to the 400 franchise coffee shops throughout the United States.There is an Executive Director of Franchise Communications and a team comprised of communication specialists that focus on several roles within the communication office: (1) Communication Specialist One --targeted marketing (in conjunction with the marketing department) to corporations that may wish to host a franchise within their organizations; (2) Communication Specialist Two – handles communication directed to franchise owners concerning new product development and changes in corporate requirements concerning products; (3) Communication Specialist Three provides communication about the franchises to the corporate leadership; (4) Communication Specialist Four – oversees the overall internal communications plan for the entire corporation; (5) Communication Specialist Five – liaises with the marketing department to enhance the general communication for new business and advertising. This office also houses an executive assistant who reports to the Executive Director and supports the Communication Specialists. The communication specialists have varied backgrounds ranging from undergraduate degrees in English, Social Sciences, and Communications. The Executive Director has an advanced degree in Organizational Leadership with an undergraduate degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus on Communication and Technology.

A dedicated and driven team leader, one of her favorite things to do when not dedicating her time to Espresso Yourself, is hiking. Her favorite drink on our menu is the Yen & Yeng Mocha.

Brooke Gassert
STORY & DEVELOPMENT
In addition to the letters and emails she provided, Brooke delivered the script for the Web Meeting. After providing several story lines for the various group projects, she also provided the Solutions, Research & Analysis portions of the Group Presentation.

Stephen Ramey
PRODUCTION & ASSEMBLY
Stephen contributed the Statement of Inclusion as well as several emails & letters. Using documents & information provided by other team members, he assembled the final versions of the Group Presentation and Group Artifact. In the Group Presentation, Stephen provided the Problem Statement, Risk Assessment and Conclusion portions.

Amanda Wilson
LEAD DIRECTOR
Amanda provided the planning and coordination of deadlines in addition to letters and emails. In addition to crafting the draft version of the Power Point slides for the Group Presentation, Amanda provided the meeting minutes for the Web Conference. Throughout the projects, Amanda coordinated and directed all meetings.
